By Erin Voegele | May 15, 2013

The USDA Rural Business-Cooperative Service has extended the deadline to apply for fiscal year 2013 Rural Energy for America Program funding. The original funding notice was published in the Federal Register on March 29. On May 8, the Rural Business-Cooperative Service published a notice in the Federal Register announcing that the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act provided additional funding for REAP. In order to provide the public with additional opportunity to apply for the additional funds, the application period deadline has been extended from April 30 to May 31.

According to information published in the notice, the extension applies to applications for renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvement projects grants and grant and loan combination applications. It also applies to renewable energy system feasibility study applications. In the notice, the USDA specified that the agency will publish a separate notice to amend the funding available under REAP.

Additional information on the original funding notice can be accessed here. The amendment notice can be downloaded from the Federal Register website
