Minn. pellet plant equipment to be sold at auction

The former Deer River, Minn.-based BioPellet Plant will liquidate its assets at auction on Nov. 29. The auction will be handled by Rochester, Minn.-based Maas Companies Inc., which specializes in selling and marketing plans, equipment, real estate and special assets.

According to information released by Maas Companies, the plant is capable of producing 80 tons of wood pellets per day. The plant equipment is currently located on leased land. Those who purchase equipment at the auction will be required to remove it from the current site by Dec. 20. The removal must be scheduled within seven days of the sale.

A variety of equipment will be offered for sale during the auction, including:

- Andritz Sproud 26LM2 pellet mill, with tubular feed auger with receiving hopper and Trabon centralized lubrication system

- 2007 Bolde Signs/Superior Kilns pallet treater kiln

- California Pellet Mill pellet cooler

- Montgomery Hammermill Series 51

- P & H Omega 50 ton crane

Potential buyers are able to inspect the equipment prior to the auction at scheduled times on Nov. 8, Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. Additional inspection times are available by appointment. The auction will be held at the Morse Town Hall in Deer River. Bidding is available live, onsite and via the internet.
