Repreve to hold annual Giant Miscanthus Field Day

By Anna Austin | December 13, 2011

Repreve Renewables will hold its second annual Giant Miscanthus Field Day Jan. 10-11 at its farm near Soperton, Ga.

The two-day event, to be attended by growers, landowners and end users of miscanthus, will include live field demonstrations and presentations from industry experts.

The tentative itinerary for the event includes a keynote address from Advanced Biofuels Association President Michael McAdams. Presentations from insiders and universities will follow, focusing on giant miscanthus research and end-uses, including information on pellets from miscanthus, miscanthus for biopower, miscanthus in the poultry industry, torrefied technology and liquid fuels.

During the second day, Repreve will take attendees on field tours of several hundred acres of Freedom Giant Miscanthus, including research blocks, and perform demonstrations of the equipment and processes the company utilizes in bringing its miscanthus to commercial scale.

Repreve Renewables has an exclusive license from Mississippi State University to commercialize Freedom Giant Miscanthus.

Giant Miscanthus Field Day is open to the public, but requires advanced registration. To sign up, click here
