The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) data for November, reporting that more than 1.49 billion RINs were generated during the month, including more than 12.39 million cellulosic RINs. During the first 11 months of the year, nearly 16.29 billion RINs were generated on a net basis.

More than 12.34 million D3 cellulosic biofuel RINs were generated in November, bringing the net total for the first 11 months of the year to 112.33 million. Approximately 2.02 million D3 RINs have been generated for ethanol so far this year, along with 64.63 million for renewable compressed natural gas and 46.4 million for renewable liquefied natural gas.  Approximately 93.03 million D3 cellulosic biofuel RINs were generated by domestic producers, while the remaining 20.02 million were generated by importers.

According to the EPA, 48,281 D7 cellulosic diesel RINs were generated in November, bringing the net total for the first 11 months of the year to 247,785. To date, all D7 RINs generated in 2015 have been generated for cellulosic heating oil by importers.

Nearly 27.49 million D5 advanced biofuel RINs were generated in November, bringing the year-to-date net total to 130.25 million. During the first 11 months of the year, 99.37 million D5 RINs were generated for ethanol, with 22.25 million generated for naptha, 684,146 generated for heating oil, 7.96 million generated for nonester renewable diesel, and 5,022 for renewable compressed natural gas. Approximately 53.54 million D5 RINs were generated by domestic producers, with 76.73 million generated by importers.

Nearly 1.23 billion D6 renewable fuel RINs were generated in November, bringing the net total for the first 11 months of the year to 13.51 billion. Most, nearly 13.1 billion, were generated for ethanol, with 105.34 million generated for biodiesel, and 312.7 million generated for nonester renewable diesel. Nearly 13.1 billion D6 RINs were generated by domestic producers, with 110.66 million generated by importers and 312.7 million generated by foreign entities.

Nearly 226.52 million D4 biomass-based diesel RINs were generated in November, bringing the net total for the first 11 months of the year to 2.54 billion. The majority, 2.05 billion, were generated for biodiesel, with 486.55 million generated for nonester renewable diesel. Nearly 1.99 billion D4 RINs were generated by domestic producers, with 334.66 million generated by importers and 216.98 million generated by foreign entities.

As of the end of November, the EPA estimates that of the 16.3 billion RINs generated so far this year, 609.59 have been retired, with 681.59 million locked and available and 15 billion unlocked and available.
