Companies sign waste-to-oil pact

World Waste Technologies and Ensyn Corp. have agreed to work together to develop technology for converting cellulose from post-recycling municipal solid waste into a liquid biofuel.

Ensyn's rapid thermal processing technology converts biomass feedstocks into a liquid biofuel that can also be used as a source of valuable chemicals. World Waste Technologies was organized to develop systems for increasing the amount of municipal solid waste to be recycled into beneficial products.

Development work on the new technology will take place at Ensyn's technology center near Ottawa, Ontario.
