German Pellets acquires Nord Energie

German Pellets GmbH, the world's largest producers and distributors of wood pellets, has acquired the pellet business of the Nord Energie GmbH & Co., effective Feb. 16. German pellets thus expanding its business in Northern Germany further.

Nord Energie has over five years experience in pellet trade and logistics, has an excellent reputation and a long established customer base in Schleswig-Holstein, in the Hamburg area and to the north of Lower Saxony. German Pellets has taken over the pellet trade including fleet, pellet storage and staff. The acquisition complements the existing direct business of German Pellets in northern Germany. "The situation in northern Schleswig-Holstein also offers the possibility of there the retail business in South Denmark develop and use the site as a link between our Wismar plant and our Danish sales subsidiary," says Peter H. Leibold, Managing Partner German Pellets GmbH.

Customers and employees of Nord Energie will be integrated into the existing network of German Pellets Group. The local proximity to the customer is retained, delivery is as usual from the warehouse in Bredstedt. Contacts and drivers remain in place. Customers will have access to premium pellets of the German brand pellets produced in Northern Germany. Nord Energie customers can also buy German Pellets’ exclusive "Power Plus" product for the first time. This technology refines wood pellets with a very thin film of vegetable oil. As a result, the fluidity of the pellets increases, and there is 95 percent less dust during injection of the pellets into the storage room.
