EPA reveals 2013 RIN data

U.S EPA data indicates nearly 16.62 billion renewable identification numbers (RINs) were generated last year, including 442,740 D3 cellulosic biofuel and 387,445 D7 cellulosic diesel RINs, bringing the total for cellulosic RINs to about 830,185.

More than 550.98 million D5 advanced biofuel RINs were generated last year, including 25.90 million for biogas and 3.47 million for naptha. Approximately 70.03 million D5 RINs were generated for nonester renewable diesel.

About 2.72 billion D4 biomass-based diesel RINs were also generated in 2013, including approximately 408.09 million for nonester renewable diesel.

More than 13.31 billion D6 renewable fuels RINs were generated last year, including 15,198 for butanol and 196.36 million for nonester renewable diesel. 

EPA data shows that nearly 15.39 billion RINs were generated by domestic producers, with 745.24 million generated by importers and 483.24 million generated by foreign entities.

    I think all this is for sure a positive move fowrrad that for sure we should be moving even more fowrrad. But remember, all this would not have been possible many years ago unless we´╗┐ encouraged such progress. Basically we are moving in the right direction. We can all argue on pace, and that's a good thing, as it helps push things along. We are not a major institution, but we are doing our small part to support growth contribute to such better development projects.
